Deactivated Sept 30 2007, 18.46pm
The owner of the motorcycle parked in front of
his house for 5 minutes while he went upstairs to retrieve something.
However he didn’t think it was necessary to lock it because he would
only be a minute. When he came out for it he found it missing. This was
in Long Island City Queens, confines of the 108pct.
He immediately called the Police of the
108pct. When the Police arrived they took a written report. This
information was then entered into the Police Computer, once this was
done it automatically activated the LoJack Transponder that was hidden
on the vehicle. This device emits a silent signal, that enables Police
with LoJack equipped vehicles to track it. Within a few hours Police of
the Auto Crime Division picked up the signal and started tracking it.
They tracked the vehicle to a residential neighborhood, in Astoria
Queens, confines of the 114pct. There they observed the bike unoccupied
behind the rear of a multi dwelling house.
They placed the bike under observation. However
when no one came out for it they took it into custody. The bike was then
processed for fingerprints with the investigation still continuing.
The vehicle was recovered with no damage on it
at all. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and notified of the
recovery. Needless to say he was elated that the bike was recovered so
quickly, especially with no damage. He was ever so grateful to LoJack ,
and stated that it was well worth the investment, as he felt it paid for
it self already.
