On September 29th, the owner of a 2007
Suzuki GSXR1000 discovered the bike had been stolen and immediately
contacted the Chicago Police Department to report the theft. Upon
completion of the theft report, the Suzuki’s hidden LoJack unit was
automatically activated.
After the activation, an officer with the Chicago Police Department on
routine patrol began receiving the silent LoJack signal on the LoJack
Police Tracking Computers (PTC) in his cruiser. Using the PTC’s
directional cues, the officer tracked the signal of the stolen Suzuki to
a residential street where he located the bike abandoned. The bike was
processed for evidence and held until its rightful owner could be
notified of the recovery.
