On November 4th, the
owner of a 2007 Honda CBR600 discovered it had been stolen from his home
and immediately contacted the Wareham Police Department to report the
theft. Upon completion of the theft report, the Honda’s hidden LoJack
Unit was automatically activated.
Minutes after the activation, officers with the Wareham
Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police (MASP) began
receiving the silent LoJack signal on the LoJack Police Tracking
Computers (PTC) in their cruisers. Using the PTC’s directional cues, the
officers tracked the signal of the stolen Honda and called in a MASP air
unit stationed close by, to assist. The pilot quickly located the bike
at a motel and directed ground units to the exact location. The ground
units found the bike abandoned behind a dumpster at the motel. The
undamaged bike was processed for evidence and returned to its rightful
owner within an hour of the LoJack Unit being activated.
